Cleo Mussi is established internationally for her maverick approach to mosaic making. She produces corporate commissions and more intimate exhibition pieces.
Cleo Mussi has projects in a number of public spaces: hospitals, schools and for the BBC Asian Network. Her largest commission for John Lewis department store in Solihull spans 25m long by 7m high on the third floor of the escalator atrium. These commissions were complex in their selection procedure.
Ideas were developed through discussion and drawings, and sensitivity was paid to the needs of staff, patients, general public and local community, often these pieces have involved workshops with schools.
Considerations for health and safety included liaising with local authorities, engineers and architects for site specific pieces, also dovetailing in with the building programme and budget limitations.
